REPORT:

With 1700 students Mapulaneng campus is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the Mpumalanga Province adjoining the Kruger National Park about 2 hours outside of Nelspruit.

  • By the time the team got to the campus, students were already eagerly lined up outside the venue. Among the participants were members of civil society, campus student affairs, social development as well as NGOs and community organisations.

  • One point that came up during the Q & A was the distorted perception of masculinity that only men who have financial resources are respected.

  • The workshop left a lasting impression and will hopefully lead to a change in behaviour in the Bushbuckridge and Mapulaneng areas.
