  • A decision was made to return the under 18’s to their homes the next day, not because of any safety concerns but because of the link to the Carling brand
  • The 41 men who remained formed 5 groups which were taken through the unique and challenging adventure activities at the Outward Bound centre.
  • As the weekend progressed the men’s enthusiasm and enjoyment of the process grew. The Saturday evening show where groups are tasked with presenting a performance on the theme of NOEXCUSE was particularly entertaining and high energy.

  • Once again the conversations proved to be the highlight as men opened up and shared about their lives and struggles.

  • The weekend culminated around the flagpole as men received their certificates and took the pledge to stand against any form of abuse.

I never had any male role models that’s why I’m here now – now that I’m a father I don’t want my children to grow up the same way I did, so I want to make myself a good role model for my children.

Men should take a stand AGAINST violenCE in the world. Men out there, you must know that what you do on this EARTH, it impacts others that are coming behind you –  Those who are going to follow in your footsteps, those who are going to carry oN your legacy.

I’m very excited to tell everyone back home about the experiences at the camp, making sure everyone knows about the #NoExcuse movement and how we can be good men in our societies and motivate positive change.

What is a common theme is the fatherlessness that our nation is experiencing. People are talking about fathers being around yet not engaged. Fathers being absent. Fathers rejecting their children. that cry from the boy child is so huge – they are not worthy and they end up sabotaging their own progress in life because of the anger they are harbouring.

These men can now say, ‘From here on I am going to make sure that I am the man that my father should have been, I will go on to create a new legacy.’ And that’s the biggest transformation I have seen in these camps.
